







The second edition of the Tata Steel Joda Run-a-thon united over 4,600 participants across geographies in a vibrant celebration of fitness and sustainability!
Embracing the theme “Green Today, Greener Tomorrow,” the event featured exciting races in 10K, 7K, and 5K categories, along with 84 Divyang participants in a special 2K run. Top honors went to Prashant Choudhary of Uttar Pradesh and Basanti Kumari of Jharkhand in the 10K category, Dhiraj Kumar of Uttar Pradesh and Basanti Mandia of Odisha in the 7K category, and Uday Melgandi of Jharkhand and Mamta Kumari of Odisha in the 5K category, spotlighting the region’s growing stature in sports.
Backed by local administration support and community spirit, the Run-a-thon turned Joda into a buzzing epicenter of energy, unity, and progress, paving the way for a healthier, greener future.
Tata Steel’s Joda Run-a-thon 2025 will be held on Sunday, November 23 at Central Playground. Event consists of 3 competitive races– 10 K and 7 K (Men & Women), 5 K (Boys and Girls) and one non-competitive 2 K (PWDs).
With a total prize pool of Rs. 5.67 Lakhs, top 3 performers across the 10K, 7K and 5K categories (men and women) as well local category will be awarded.
Event race route is measured and certified by the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS).
Note: Participation for Indian National only.
Registration is now OPEN.
An applicant can apply for only one race.
Duplicate application of same participant will be rejected.
All participants must report outside the Central Playground, Joda.
Elite runner please mention your previous best time of race category (Please attach performance certificate of previous best time).
Athletes will be allotted different colour coding BIB numbers as per race category / distance.
There will be no refund to participants who have once registered, no transfer, no exchange of category will be done.
3. First Aid and water facilities will be provided by the organiser.
4. Refreshment to be collected from the Refreshment Counter at Central Playground, Joda on the day of the event.
5. All finishers in 10 K (Men within 85 minutes & Women within 95 minutes) will be awarded medals.
6. Maximum 5000 participants will be registered on the first come first serve basis. Registration will close after attaining the above figure.
10 K category: 15 years and above (Participants born on or before 23/11/2010) - Entry Fee- Rs. 250
7 K category: 15 years and above (Participants born on or before 23/11/2010) - Entry Fee- Rs. 250
5 K category: 12 years to 16 years (Participants born between 23/11/2013 and 23/11/2009)- Entry Fee- Rs. 150

HOW TO REACH JODA
Road: Joda in Keonjhar district of Odisha is well connected by road. The town is 155 km from Jamshedpur and 225 km from Ranchi. One can also travel 285 km to reach Joda from Bhubaneswar, the capital city of Odisha.
Rail: Joda is connected through rail. The town has a small railway station called Banspani (BSPX). The nearest railway stations from which one can board train to reach Joda are - Bhubaneswar (272 km), Howrah (400 km), Tata Nagar (150 km), Chakradharpur (85 km), Rourkela (245 km), Ranchi (240 km). There are few Passenger and Express trains available for Joda.
Flight: Joda is not connected by air. The airports, connected to reach Joda are – Ranchi (225 km), Jamshedpur (155 km), Bhubaneswar (285 km).


Joda and Biodiversity –
Joda is a census town in Odisha’s Keonjhar district, an Ex-princely state of India which is situated between 2101ˈN to 22010ˈN of latitude & 85011ˈE to 86022ˈE of longitude. The Geographical area of Keonjhar District is 8303 Sq. Km. with approximately 3,400 Sq. Km. area under forests including reserved forests.
This small mining town lies close to the Jharkhand border and is blessed with rich variety of flora & fauna to the very delight of strangers, which has its unique characteristic.
The nearby towns include Barbil, Koira, Champua and Keonjhar.
Tata Steel has its Iron and Manganese Ore Mines in Joda.
Gifted with countless bounties of nature, Joda is also known for its iron and manganese ore reserves. Tata Steel has been contributing towards restoring the beauty of the area since ages. Tata Steel is committed to the conservation, enhancement and restoration of biodiversity in its areas of operation. To formalise this commitment, Tata Steel adopted the company-wide Biodiversity Policy in April 2016 which aims to achieve ‘No Net Loss’ on biodiversity. Restoring biodiversity in and around the Joda mining area is a significant step towards sustainable mining.
